The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) is the largest independent, nonprofit healthcare research organization in Zambia and aims to improve access to quality health care through innovative capacity development, exceptional implementation of science and research, and impactful and sustainable public health programs.
CIDRZ has partnered with the Ministry of Health in Zambia to reach healthcare milestones and sustainable development goals through its technical expertise, service delivery and operational infrastructure.
Priding itself on high-caliber clinical and research programs that provide credible evidence for decision-making, CIDRZ has one of the largest state-of-the-art medical and research diagnostic laboratories in sub-Saharan Africa. Supporting HIV care and treatment, the laboratory conducts more than 1 million routine patient laboratory tests and is accredited by the US National Institutes of Health Division of AIDS certification for research trials.
CIDRZ is supported by many funders including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the Center for Disease Control through funding from the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.
